Polaris is committed to electrifying its large Ranger models. The “small” Ranger EV has been around for a number of years, including here in Europe.
At the end of this year 2021, the large Ranger – there is no cubic number for a more precise model name – is due to come onto the market in the USA. Polaris has put a first video online about this. The somewhat camouflaged chassis can be seen well in the film sequences – it is identical to that of the Ranger 1000, which is already on the market. So why is it camouflaged? This allows speculative conclusions to be drawn about the development time of the E-model, which could coincide with that of the new Ranger 1000. Or just made for video because it looks good. No matter.
A look under the loading area would have been interesting. There where the engine from Zero-Motorcycles (ZF75-10 engine, 83kW / 111 HP power with 190 Nm torque) and especially the batteries (lithium-ion?) Are housed. Unfortunately, the video does not reveal any insights here.
Information on the range, maximum working hours under heavy load, which is explicitly advertised in the video, would also have been of great interest. But stop. The video shows a prototype. Perhaps Polaris will surprise you with a few design handles at the end of the year to usher in the latest era of the E-Ranger models.
